Wednesday, April 9th, 2014Update from BrianLeahyArt HQ: Working on a new painting. Here’s a couple sketches:

TO THE SUMMITTTTTT
The painting is going to be as big as the last one (“Pile Of Ship”) aka 4 x 6′ on wood. The basic idea is a mountain peak with footprints to the summit visible. In the background a sun looms larger than life. But the whole scene is viewed through a wall of randomly stacked windows.
I am experimenting with using tape to block off segments of the painting, leaving clean wood visible. Just finished a trial smaller example of the tape part, seen below.
No worries, it only took 4 hours! Ha! Ha. Ugh.
This one’ll be done in time for my summer residency at the unparalleled most excellent TWIG SALON on Pearl St. here in lovely BOULDER COLORADO. Stay tuned friends!

Did I trick you with that headline? I don’t know if that’s ever gonna happen but we gotta dream right? Yes we do. Anyways this post is not really about that. Altho I truly wish it was.

We’ve been playing monthly at the No Name Bar on the Hill in Boulder, CO
Our next show there is May 3 @ 10 PM
Look for us to start playing in Denver this summer.

MARKER SHOW IN JANUARY
Thursday, January 16th, 2014Excited to announce a special showing of my marker work at The Cup in Boulder, CO from January 15 – 31, 2014. This marker-only display features 8 pieces from 2011-2012, several of which were completed at none other than The Cup itself. Spent many late night hours here during the winter of 2011-2012, hyped up on quality coffee and dreamin’ art dreams. Come check it out!

Sunday, January 12th, 2014Hello Hello. Hope y’all’s January is going swell so far. Things have been busy here at BrianLeahyArt ™. Here’s some photos from prAna’s yoga studio on Pearl St., where my art has been on display from December to the present.

Over the next couple days I will be moving my marker works to The Cup (also located on Pearl St., Boulder, CO). They shall remain on display there until February 1st, when I’m making the move to Hapa Sushi in the Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver for the month. My first time showing in Denver! Can’t wait.
